Beulah Joyce Johnston Chambers entered into eternal rest December 17th, 2014. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 19, 1933, the daughter of Edward R. Johnston, Sr. and Kathryn Walker Johnston. She moved to Decatur, Georgia in 1942 where she attended Glenwood Grammar School and Decatur Girls High School where she was a cheerleader. As a student of the University of Georgia, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and a die-hard Georgia Bulldog fan. She was a loving and devoted Mother to son Eugene P. Chambers, III (Pete) and daughter Mimi Chambers. She adored her close-knit group of friends, many of whom she grew up with in Decatur. Joyce enjoyed traveling with her friends to the coast and the mountains, as well as visiting her brother in Bald Head Island, N.C. She was a kind-spirited, generous and brave soul who loved deeply and fiercely, a true Steel Magnolia. Joyce was a long-standing faithful member of Decatur First United Methodist Church. Her son Pete Chambers, daughter Mimi Chambers, grandsons Law, Hollis, Buster Chambers and Bo Triantos, Sister Bricelyn Cantey and Brother and Sister-in-Law Dick and Pat Johnston, and many nieces, nephews and their families, survive her. Visitation will be held at 1:15 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2014, in the Decatur First United Methodist Chapel with the service to follow at 2:30 P.M. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Decatur Cemetery. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
