Bill Vasilios Stavropoulos, known affectionately as Bill, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, at the age of 83, in Alpharetta, Georgia. Born on May 27, 1940, in Athens, Greece, Bill was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Bill's journey brought him from the historical city of Athens, Greece to Chamblee, Georgia. He carried the warmth of the Mediterranean sun in his heart. Despite the loss of his mother, Sophia Stavropoulos, Bill's remained a devoted son, carrying on her memory.
Bill was proud of his academic endeavors, having attended Oglethorpe University. His intellectual curiosity led him to a fulfilling career as a computer analyst with the US Forestry Department, where he dedicated many years of service.
A patriot at heart, Bill served his country with honor as a US Army veteran. The discipline and camaraderie he experienced in the military stayed with him throughout his life, shaping his character and guiding his actions.
Beyond his professional life, Bill had a passion for travel and investments. He enjoyed exploring new horizons and taking on the challenges of the financial world. Yet, it was the simple pleasure of spending time with his family that brought him the most happiness. His brothers, Jimmy Stavropoulos with his family, and Angelo Stavropoulos with his family, will miss his guidance, humor, and kindness.
Bill's legacy is one of love, laughter, and compassion. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his insightful mind, and his unwavering support for those he loved. His departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to comfort those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
As we bid farewell to Bill Vasilios Stavropoulos, we celebrate his life and cherish the memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. We are at peace knowing that he has been reunited with his beloved mother.
