Mr. Billy Phillips, 77, of Tucker, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a big supporter of Tucker High School Gymnastics, and the GA Destination Imagination program. He loved Southern Gospel music and was always involved with his children and their Golden Breeze Music Ministry. Mr. Phillips was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his first born son Barry, parents Monroe and Ora Lee Phillips, brother and sister-in-law Harry and Mary Phillips, and brother Roy Phillips. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Peggy; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sonya Phillips of Tucker and was “Poppy” to granddaughter, Ruby; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and David Brown of Tucker; sisters-in-law, Eloise Phillips of Roswell and Lucile Tullis of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 26 in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment will be at Rehoboth Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 3:00 P. M. and from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Thursday, June 25 at A. S. Turner & Sons.
