Billy Eugene Wilson

Mr. Billy Eugene Wilson was born in The Pea Ridge Community of Decatur, GA on April 4, 1935, to a large family of 14 children of the late Colie and Annie Wilson, and died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from complications of pneumonia.  He was a home builder and started working on his father's framing crew at age 8.  Billy was preceded in death by his only son Billy "BJ" Wilson, Jr.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna; and three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Max Williams, Carrie and John Clack, and Wendy and George Chanos.    He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren with the fourth due in May; four sisters, Jeannette Martin, Mary Ann Goodwin, Chee Chee Schulenberger, and Sarah Pumo; and two brothers, Henry and Colie Wilson, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.   He loved sports of all kinds and lettered in baseball, football and track in high school.  He also won a medal for running hurdles. His current hobbies included a summer vegetable garden, going to the casino boat, watching sports, racing, and American Idol on television.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Womack officiating.  Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Friday and Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
