Bob G. Grizzle

Bob G. Grizzle, 82, of Decatur, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away February 9, 2016. Born October 17, 1933, in Statham, GA, he was the son of the late James and DruWillie Cosby Grizzle. Bob served his country for 4 years in the United States Navy. Once he was out of the Navy, he pursued a career in medicine where he spent 37 years with Reed Drug Company as a pharmacist and district manager. He was an active member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and served as a deacon, elder, and treasurer of the church. Bob enjoyed sports of all kinds, but was most fond of basketball and the Braves, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joann Grizzle; three daughters: Pam Britton and her husband, Alan, Gina Turner and her husband, John, and Lisa Payne and her husband, Kelly; four granddaughters: Jennifer Turner, Joanna Turner Sims and her husband, Christian, Julia Turner, and Jesse Turner; grandson, Corey Payne; two sisters, Hazel Tinsley, and Em McDowell; and many more loving family and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Mariam Hollifield, and brothers, James, Wesley, Cliff, and Harvey Grizzle.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, February 12. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA, 30033, with Rev. Rachael Whaley-Pate officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA.
