Bobby Leon Padrick

On June 4, 2023, Bobby Leon Padrick, 73, of Winder, GA, passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife Patricia at his side. On that morning, the clouds lifted and ushered him to heaven. Bobby was born on July 6, 1949, to Hubert and Maggie Mae Padrick in Jacksonville, NC.

Bobby graduated from High School and went on to further education at Lenoir Community College. After two years in college, he started his 43-year career with Genesco.

In 1969, Bobby met the love of his life, Patricia in Kinston, NC. Bobby and Patricia married in 1970 and went on to have four children, Rhonda, Greg, Brad, and Kenneth (Bullet).

Bobby was an honorary life member and a past exalted ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was committed to educational and patriotic community-minded programs in such fields as benefiting special needs children, sponsoring scholarships, scouting, athletic teams, veterans' works, a national "Hoop Shoot" free-throw contest involving more than 3 million children, physical and occupational therapy programs and patriotic programs. In 2013, Bobby retired from Genesco as a retail manager and spent his time with Patricia enjoying retirement in Winder, GA.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Maggie Mae Padrick, and his five siblings, Joann Howard, Bud Padrick, Margaret Herring, Helen Butler, and Delores Gregory. He is survived by his wife Patricia Padrick, his four children: Daughter, Rhonda (and Jim) Purcell - Son, Greg Padrick - Son, Brad Padrick (and Lisa Barra) - Son, Kenneth Padrick. Eleven grandchildren: Lauren Purcell, James Purcell, Anzleigh Padrick, Rachel (and Will) Eason, Ashlynn Padrick (and Dorian Richards), Grant Bishop, Nolan Padrick, Riley Padrick, Carlton Purcell, Lincoln Padrick and Haley Padrick. Two great grandchildren: Brooks Bryant (Anzleigh) and Lydia Eason (Rachel and Will). Services will be held at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Rd. Decatur, GA 30033 on Friday, June 9, 2023, with Visitation at 12:00 pm, followed by Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:00 pm. Immediately following the Memorial Service will be a procession to Floral Hills Memory Gardens located at 3150 Lawrenceville Highway Tucker, GA 30084 where Bobby will be laid to rest.
