Boyd Lee

BOYD LEE age 92 of Snellville, GA, formerly of Decatur, Monticello and Forsyth Georgia died Feb. 25, 2011. Boyd was born September 8, 1918 in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Boyd was one of thirteen children born to the Rev. Early Lonzo Lee and Daisy D. Nichols. His Lee family can be dated back to about 1820 in Gwinnett County and among some of the first settlers there. Boyd attended Snellville High School and always looked forward to attending most all of his high school reunions. Boyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II and a long time member of the American Legion of Georgia. He was also a mason with membership in the Pythagoras Lodge # 41, F & AM for 57 years. He was also the long time owner of B. Lee's garage in Avondale Estates, GA. Boyd lived a full life for ninety of his years. For many years he enjoyed and had a great love for traveling in his motor home or flying in one of his airplanes or riding one of his motorcycles. He told me many times the past couple of years that he thought he had done everything he wanted to do in life and had no regrets. Boyd was preceded in death by his first wife of forty nine years Sarah Frances Snead Lee, daughter, Sarah Frances Lee Parker, son Earl Eugene Lee and his second wife Bernice Johnson Lee of Forsyth, Georgia. Survivors are sons, Claude Boyd "Buck" Lee and wife, Dianne of Lilburn, GA, Robert David Lee and wife, Jane of Snellville, GA and Michael Charles Lee of Athens, GA; one brother, Billy Eugene Lee of Athens, GA; five sisters-in-law; seven grand children; five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the many people at Parkwood Living Center in Snellville, GA for the care and respect given to him the past two and a half years. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Melwood Cemetery, DeKalb County, Georgia with Rev. Lewis Miller officiating. A. S. Turner & Sons
