Brenda Gayle Pickens

Brenda Gayle Pickens, 68, of Bishop, GA passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012. She was born in Decatur, GA to the late Willie Lee Thompson and Letha Simmons Thompson. Brenda is preceded in death by two sisters: Lois Cook and Ida Dobbs. She is survived by her beloved dog Sir Maxwell; husband Thomas Wayne Pickens of 51 years; daughter and son-in-law Rita and Steve Garrett; daughter Kellie Pickens; sons and daughter-in-laws: Lamar and Kimberly Pickens, Dewayne and Stephanie Pickens, and Randy and Melanie Pickens; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters: Mary Wilhite, Hazel Dobbs, Carolyn Nicholson, Edith Satterwhite, Ruth Reagan, Barbara Darby, Jean Nicholson. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 28th in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Rev. Kevin Kuykendall officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Grayson, GA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Georgia Transplant Foundation. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 PM and again from 6:00-8:00 PM at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
