Bron Washam Fayssoux passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009, at her home in Decatur, GA. She was born December 9, 1917, in Cornelius, NC to Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Washam. Bron graduated from Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista, VA. She received her nursing diploma from H. F. Long Hospital in Statesville, NC. Bron served her country during WWII in the Army Nurse Corps from November 1942 until October 1944. She was attached to the 5th Army which fought in North Africa and Italy. In 1950, she married William Elliott Fayssoux who preceded her in death in 1965. Bron worked as an Occupational Health Nurse for the IRS until her retirement. She was a member of Decatur Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the friends she made in the Parents’ Class. Bron had a life long love and concern for animals. Most important to Bron was her family. She is survived by her three children, William Elliott Fayssoux, Jr., Anne Rebecca Fayssoux, and Sarah Fayssoux Barefoot and son-in-law Thomas Roy Barefoot. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to P.A.W.S Atlanta, 5287 Covington Highway, Decatur, GA 30035 or Decatur Presbyterian Church, 205 Sycamore Street, Decatur, GA 30030. Visitation will be held at A. S. Turner & Sons on Friday, July 10, from 5 until 7pm. Funeral services will be held in the Sanctuary of Decatur Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 11, at 2 pm. Burial will be in Cornelius, NC at Mount Zion United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 12, at 2 pm.
