C. Austin Fountain, Jr., age 75, of Clarkston, died Tues. April 14, 2009. Mr. Fountain grew up in Decatur and graduated from Decatur Boys High in 1950. He played the Clarinet in the Decatur High Band and Orchestra. He served in the Army during the Korean War. After attending Georgia State University, he was employed for many years in the road construction business. He later retired after15 yrs working as a Tax Auditor with the I.R.S. He was a devoted husband; Lay Minister; and member of the Decatur First Christian Church. He loved container gardening and birding. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Ellen Fountain; daughters, Deborah Sutherland (Keith), Theresa Stenzel, (Mark), Susan Enkeboll; sons, Stuart Fountain; David Fill, (Tami), Grandchildren, Chris Sutherland, Alan Sutherland (Pennie), Christian Fill, and Caleb Fill; Great Grandchild, Janie Neal; Brother, Walter Fountain (Frances), James Fountain (Laurie), and a number of nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1 pm at Decatur First Christian Church, 601 W. Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030. Rev. Dr. James Brewer-Calvert officiating. Reception will follow the service. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be sent to Decatur First Christian Church or the American Kidney Foundation.
