Carl E. Dahlstrom, "Big C", 83, a longtime resident of Atlanta, died Monday, November 09, 2009. Big C was born on July 21, 1926 in Pennsylvania and grew up in Lakewood, NY. He graduated from Springfield College, Springfield, MA. Big C was an avid sports fan and fisherman. He was a sportswriter in upstate NY, primarily covering world class boxing and college hockey. He moved to Atlanta in 1956 and was a founding partner in BDGR Associates, manufacturing reps for hunting and fishing. In 1982 that company merged with R. M. Dick Noyes with Carl as the managing partner of Sports Marketing South until retirement. He was beloved by his family and his many friends. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Jean Dahlstrom; daughter, Debbie Connell (David); sons, Skip Dahlstrom (Sheri) and Bobby Dahlstrom; grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Ryan, Chase, Nikki and Anna. Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 12th at 11 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Park. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shallowford Presbyterian Church where he was a member. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Dr., Atlanta, GA 30319. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at A. S.
