Carmel "Dee" Mix

On Friday Morning, April 2, 2021 Carmel Mix (Dee) quietly departed this life at her home in (Atlanta, Ga.) with the Angel of Silence, to a land free from sickness, sorrow and pain to go home to her Father. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to the Union of the late Dr. Floyd Mix D.D.S. and the late Marie (Carrie) Hester on May 30, 1970. Carmel (Dee) had 9 siblings, Keith Hester, Tommy Hester, (Preceded in death Barbara Mix Steward), Vivian Mix-Murphy, Floyd Mix Jr., Deborah Mix-Scales, Dr. Michelle Mix, Corey Mix and Christian Mix. Her loving Aunts, Paulette Davis and Lorie Allen, 2 well adored uncles, William Davis and Larry Allen …... and her significant other, Joe Hood. Carmel “Dee” also leaves behind to mourn a host of relatives and friends. Carmel (Dee) attended school in Chicago, Illinois. She was employed with the U.S. Government and held many job positions. After many years in Chicago, Carmel moved to Atlanta Georgia in early 2000. Carmel (Dee), loved her family and their gatherings, loved dancing and had such an infectious laugh...she enjoyed cooking and she could really throw down a meal. She loved life to the fullest. God knew that she was getting weary so he did what he thought was best and took her to be with him. She will be truly missed by all who dearly loved her.
