Carol Anne Hill

Carol Anne Smith Hill, 72, of Clarkston, beloved wife and mother, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Born August 2, 1944, in Alexandria, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Frost Smith. Carol enjoyed the ocean, spending time in the sun, with her family, and watching movies. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and love of animals.

Carol is survived by her son, David R. New; daughter, Donna Lee New; grandchildren, Christopher Marquez, Tiffany Carol Ackerman, and Jeffrey Allen Weaver; great grandchildren, Maylin Marquez and Holland Weaver; brothers, David Smith and Robert Smith; sisters, Sherry Vincent and Lynne Palmer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Barnett Hill, Jr.; brother, Steve O'Bannon; and sister, Kathy O'Bannon.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, at A.S. Turner & Sons. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons, with Chaplain Robert Smith officiating. A graveside service will follow at Melwood Cemetery.
