Carol Rose Green, age 75, died Friday May 1, 2020, in Sacred Journey Hospice facility in McDonough, Georgia. Born March 1, 1945, in Bessemer, Alabama, she was the daughter of Arthur and Louise Green and later the stepdaughter of Horace (Zoot) Ashley.
After completing her BS degree in Education at the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Carol moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and her early career years were spent teaching English at Douglasville Junior High School. She later was a technical writer at Citizens and Southern bank for 20 years and again at CheckFree Corporation. Carol always loved to type, and in her later career years became a medical transcriptionist for Children’s Hospital. She was a diehard Alabama fan and loved Braves baseball. Her hobbies included needlepoint, crossword puzzles, gardening, and music, and she was happiest when watching the sunset with dear friends at Cape San Blas, Florida. She was known for her independence, quick wit, charming personality, and ability to infuse fun into any situation.
Those who knew and loved Carol know that she fought a long and valiant battle against Diabetes. She will always be remembered for her ability to make friends with anyone who had the privilege of knowing her and will be missed by many lifelong friends. All who knew her treasured her as “one of a kind.”
She is survived by her brother, Arthur (Judge) Green (Patricia), nieces Ashlyn Green, Jennifer Green Taylor (Keith), Leah Green Dukes (Matt), and five great nieces and nephews.
