Carole Diane Cooper

Carole Cooper, born January 15, 1956 in Kansas City, MO, passed away on April 2, 2024 surrounded by loving family after a long battle with brain cancer. Her parents were Della May George and Frank Eugene Blasco. She graduated from Van Horn High School in Missouri, DeKalb Technical College in Georgia, and Ashford University in Iowa.

Carole hated sports with few exceptions, jokes before noon, food with chicken, her middle name, grapes, and camping. She loved Ronnie Milsap, Rod Stewart, bowling, wearing stripes, crab Rangoon, psychic fairs, fishing with her boys, and making spaghetti and Polish povitica. Carole was a woman of many talents. She cooked, sewed and quilted, and was handy at fixing cars.

Carole loved to work and held many jobs over the years. She was a switch board operator at Menorah Hospital in Kansas City, a legal assistant in a fast-paced UAW law office in Missouri, and a project manager for Electrical Systems Southeast in Georgia.

In addition to family whom she treasured; Carole's passion was animals. She raised rabbits, birds, dogs and cats at one time or another. She volunteered at Lifeline Animal Project caring for abandoned animals, and St Francis Table in Atlanta, GA feeding the homeless. Carole ushered at her church, The Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Atlanta.

Carole and two sons moved to Georgia where she met Vicki. Carole and Vicki lived together happily for 26 years until Carole's passing. Together they adopted and raised a beautiful baby boy. She and Vicki loved going to the kids' school and sporting events. With Carole's cancer diagnosis, she was treated at the Shepherd Center for traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries in Atlanta, GA. and is grateful for the care she received there.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Michael J Blasco, and leaves behind her spouse Vicki, her three sons Brian Cooper (Dawn), Frank Cooper, Daniel Figiel, and grandchildren Dayton, Delaney, Dakota, James F., Dominik, and her half-brother John Christopher Blasco.

There will be two services for Carole, one in Decatur, GA, and the other in Kansas City, MO. The first service is at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA on April 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM. There will be a visitation an hour prior. The second service will be at St. Francis Xavier in Kansas City, MO for Catholic Mass on Friday, April 12th at 11:00 am. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior. Carole will be buried at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Kansas City, KS near her mother and grandmother. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St Francis Table in Atlanta, GA, Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA, Lifeline Animal Project in Atlanta, GA, or any charity meaningful to you.
