Carolee Anderson, age 61, of Atlanta, died Thursday March 10, 2011. Born and raised in New Smyrna, FL, she studied for a year in Sweden during high school. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Stetson College in Florida, spending a year studying French in Switzerland. She later earned her Master's Degree from the University of Miami. Carolee moved to Atlanta 35 years ago and was in her 28th year of working for the State of Georgia as the Director of Compensation and Classifications, department of human resources. She loved to travel to many countries, including North and Central America, Europe, Scandinavia, the Mid-East and Asia. Carolee enjoyed getting together with the girls, dining out and all sorts of cultural experiences, including operas, musicals, art shows and plays. She was very athletic and enjoyed exercise programs at the YWCA, tap dancing, surfing in Florida and playing ALTA tennis, where she was a doubles team champion. Carolee is survived by her husband, Gary Seaborn; step-daughters, Kelly Slaton and Sadie Seaborn, who dearly loved her; mother, Floanna Anderson; cousins, Sally Burrows, Buzzy Burrows and Barbara Cardinal; cat, Ginger and dogs, Petunia and Gracie. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2011 in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. She will be laid to rest in Florida. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 PM at A.S. Turner & Sons, Decatur.
