Carolyn Bernhardt Hoose, 67, died December 25, 2010, at her home in DeKalb County. She was born September 3, 1943, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She graduated from Wauwatosa High School and from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a degree in medical technology. She worked as a medical technologist at the University of Wisconsin and later at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Carolyn was the daughter of Norval and Vivian Skedsmo Bernhardt. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kirsten and John Anderson and three grandchildren: Anna Kate nderson, William Rigby Anderson, and Kiley McKenna Anderson, all of Atlanta; her sister, Kathy Brand of Lewiston, Idaho; her brother and sister-in-law Norval and Carrie Bernhardt of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank her friend and caregiver, Joneaa Williams Heath. In addition to her work as a medical technologist, Carolyn was a past member and volunteer for the Junior League of DeKalb and the DeKalb Medical Society Auxiliary, where she served in leadership positions for many years. A memorial service for Carolyn will be held Sunday, January 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at A.S. Turner and Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA The family will receive friends at one hour prior to the service.
