Mrs. Carolyn Mounts of Decatur died Monday, May 31, 2010. She is survived by three children, Pete Mounts of Atlanta, Skip Mounts of Macon, and Beth Rutherford of Toccoa; five grandchildren, Allison Luton, Patrick Rutherford, Rebecca Rutherford, Christy Grosch, and Lindsey Scarborough; three great grandchildren, Grant Grosch, Caroline Grosch and Hampton Grosch; and a beloved niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Mounts, Sr. and sister Dorothy Simonds. Mrs. Mounts was a graduate of Randolph Macon Women’s College. She served as Assistant Director of the American Red Cross, Trenton, New Jersey Chapter. She worked with families whose loved ones were embarking for service in the Atlantic area during World War II. Later, Mrs. Mounts was an elementary school teacher in DeKalb County. She was active in Clairmont Presbyterian Church having served two terms as Clerk of Session. She was, also, a Life Enrichment volunteer and served as Vice President of Education. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 3rd at 2:00 PM at Clairmont Presbyterian Church, Rev. Megan Johnson and Rev. Ron Hieber officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clairmont Presbyterian Church, 1994 Clairmont Rd., Decatur, GA 30033. A. S. Turner & Sons
