Carolyn Nash Silverberg, 96, of Tucker, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Born in Luxomni, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Homer A. and Gertrude (Askew) Nash. She was in the graduating class of 1938 at Girls High School in Atlanta and a lifelong member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Atlanta. As a young woman, Carolyn worked at Hartford Insurance Company. She later retired from DeKalb County School System; however, the focus of her life was her family, as a loving wife and mother. Carolyn was married for 46 years to Paul Arthur Silverberg, who passed away in May 1986.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane Massey and her husband, Fred, Suzie Prante and her husband, Paul, Kim Gallacher and her husband, Phil, and Kay Silverberg; son, Jeff Silverberg; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Claire Nash; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Charlotte Nash Williams; and her brother W. Harold Nash.
A Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 12, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Susan Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia.
