Catherine Schwantz Emanuel

Catherine Schwantz Emanuel passed away on November 3, 2022, in Atlanta, GA.

Cathy was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and cat mom.

Cathy was born April 14th, 1961, in Memphis, Tennessee. She moved to Atlanta in 1962 and remained there until she passed. She was predeceased by her parents Fred L. Schwantz III and Jo Lynn Dolan Schwantz. She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Emanuel and their loving cats. Also survived by her brother Christopher (Chris) Schwantz (Kim). Also survived by her sisters Elizabeth (Beth) Schwantz Carrillo and Dolores (Lori) Schwantz Patterson (Tyler). Cathy very much loved her niece, Jolie Patterson, and her nephews, Fred, Jared, Zac Schwantz, Christopher Manza, and Sam Patterson. One remaining Aunt Annette Busby of Little Rock, Arkansas, and multiple cousins.

After her father's death a former Delta airline captain, Cathy joined Delta as a flight attendant enjoying the perks of international travel. After Delta she enjoyed helping her brother with his business and as an office manager for her husband's company.

Her hobbies include gardening, photography, and many artistic endeavors which included designing specialized birthday cards for all her nephews and niece and yearly calendars for her husband.

Her smile and laughter was infectious to people who met her.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Dr. David Naglee officiating. Interment will be in Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
