Cecil Gregory Cowan

Cecil Gregory Cowan, 96, loving husband, father and grandfather died peacefully in his sleep June 14, 2016. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Louise Estes Cowan; son Cecil Gregory Cowan, Jr., spouse Ann of Stone Mountain; grandchildren: Andrew Gregory Cowan, Sarah and Ian White, and Thomas Christian Cowan.
After serving in the Army during World War II, Cecil went to work for Sears, Roebuck and Company while he went to school at the University of Georgia in Atlanta. With the help of his wife, he graduated with honors. He worked for Sears for 30 years.
He was a long-time member of North Decatur United Methodist Church and served in several positions with the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Decatur United Methodist Church or a charity of one's choice in memory of Cecil.
