Charlene (Shook) Williams, 75 years of age, born in Power, West Virginia, passed peacefully on December 14, 2017, at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur, Ga. She was born on December 10,1942, and was an active member of her community with “Pride Rings” in Stone Mountain, (PRISM), the Hambrick School PTA, the Hearthstone Civic Association, and, St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church. She was eager to help others at all times. Charlene was married to Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert E. Williams for 52 years. She followed her husband through two tours in Vietnam and many moves across the country. In addition to her husband, surviving is her son, Charles E. Williams, and his wife, Brena, and one grandson, (Robbie) Robert E. Williams II, Other surviving members include, a sister, Sharon Emig, and her husband, Eugene, and brother-in-law, William Williams and his wife, Karen, along with nieces and nephews, and Shauna Davis and her husband, Marty, and, Valerie and her husband Bob Hasty, Leonard Emig-Smith and husband Jeff Emig-Smith Holly King and her husband, Tim. Eberle Williams, and, Thomas Williams, and his wife Maureen, along with several great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 23rd at 2:00 PM at St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church on Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy’s’ Methodist Church Stone Mountain, (5365 Memorial Dr. Stone Mountain, GA 30083)
