Charlie Stubblebine, a loving husband, father, and friend and a native of Decatur, GA, died unexpectedly July 29, 2007, while in Highlands, NC with lifelong friends. Charlie never met a stranger and always greeted everyone with a smile and a joke. He was born at Emory University Hospital and grew up in Decatur, receiving his Eagle Scout badge with Troup #157 in 1952. Charlie completed Decatur High School in 1957, attended Georgia Tech, and graduated from the University of Georgia. While at UGA, Charlie was a cheerleader and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He always looked forward to cheering the Bulldogs on each year at Homecoming. Charlie earned a CLU degree and had a long career in the life insurance business. He was a devoted member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and lived his faith by working for Habitat for Humanity, and serving as head usher and delegate to the North Georgia Annual Conference. Charlie wouldn't miss a Wednesday evening session playing his banjo with the pickers and singers at Oak Grove. Charlie will be missed by many loving friends and family.
