Charles "Edd" Wright

January 12, 1914 — February 11, 2009

Charles Edward (Edd) Wright passed away February 11, 2009, at the age of 95.    He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marguerite Ethel Wright, his parents, Benjamin Webster Wright and Martha Amanda Wright, and by his sister, Julia Rebecca Hasty.  Edd was born in Resaca, Gordon County, Georgia on January 12, 1914. He served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II.  He was employed by Lee (Colonial) Baking Company and its successors until his retirement.  Edd was an active member of Rainbow Park Baptist Church.  He is survived by his nephew, Boyette A. Hasty, Jr., and his wife Janie of San Antonio, Texas, his nephew, Larry Cox and his wife Diane of Snellville, Georgia; and by his niece, Sherryl Cox of Decatur, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Son, with viewing prior to services at 10:00 a.m.  Rev. Don Lockhart will officiate.  Interment will be in Eastview Cemetery.  If you so desire, please make a donation to your favorite charity, in lieu of flowers.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to longtime friends, Frank and Anne Moulder, for their loving care of Edd and Marguerite for so many years.  We are forever in your debt.  A.
