Charles Edward Davis, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia lost his battle with leukemia on July 20, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Christmas Davis, his daughter Sheila Davis Leveritt and son-in-law Daniel E. Leveritt of Dacula, Ga and son Russell E. Davis of Atlanta. He was the son of Etta Nash Davis and Charles E. Davis, Sr. of Decatur, Ga. He was the owner of Davis Sanitary Supply from 1954 until 1993. A lifetime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and a Master Mason of Tucker Lodge No. 42. He was most proud of his family connections as part of the founding families of the Oak Grove area. An avid fan of boating and classic cars, he shared his enthusiasm with numerous friends and family. Charles also loved entertaining whether planned or drop in. No one ever visited and left with an empty stomach! His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday July, 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Rev. Mary Lou Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 3715 Northside Pkwy, Bldg 4, Atlanta, GA 30327. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
