Mr. Charles Edwin (Chuck) Hauswirth, of Clarkston, died Saturday, July 6, 2009. He was born on March 15, 1921 in Chicago, IL to John Edwin Hauswirth and Pearl Myrtle Brown Hauswirth. He served in the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Hauswirth married Evelyn Frances Mayson on October 13, 1945. He was a Master Mason in the Apalachicola, FL Lodge #76, receiving a certificate for 55 years of service in 2007. Mr. Hauswirth was a member of St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church since 1951. He retired as Personnel Director from the Winship family owned trucking company, Georgia Highway Express in 1976. A member of the Clarkston community from 1961 until 2009, he was also a member of the 50’s and Better Senior Center in Tucker, where he loved playing bridge with his friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Frances Mayson Hauswirth and his son Philip Mayson Hauswirth. Mr. Hauswirth is survived by son, Charles E. (Chuck) Hauswirth, Jr.; daughter, Jane Alice Smith; grandchildren, Scott, David, and Barrett Hauswirth, Rebecca and Paul Smith; and niece, Ruth Galbreath Parsley of Lansing, MI. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. A. S. Turner & Sons
