ISON, Charles  -

Charles H. Ison, 89, died June 29, 2005 of colon cancer. He was born in College Park, Ga., July 10, 1915, to O.C. and Susan Ison and was a life time resident of Atlanta, where he was employed by A T &T for 33 years as a cost analyst engineer. He was a WWII veteran and served in the European Theater from Normandy to VE day. Charlie was a former Mason, Shriner, and a member of the Atlanta Boat Club. He was a long time member of North Druid Hills Christian Church. Charlie is survived by his much loved and devoted lifetime friend, companion, and sole mate of 64 years, Helen Johnson Ison; and a sister-in-law Gertrude Barrett. He was devoted to his nieces, Nancy Hester, Tricia Cresswell, Susan Brantley, and Frances Puckett; nephews, Hal Barrett and Van Sewell; and many great nieces and nephews. His strong and quite presence will be missed by all. Visitation: Sunday, July 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, Ga. Burial is Monday, July 4, at 11 a.m., in Westview Cemetery, Rev. Marlin H. Day officiating. Remembrances: American Cancer Society, and American Heart Association. A. S. Turner & Sons
