Charles H. Wright, Jr.

Charles H. Wright, Jr., age 88, died September 10, 2009, at his home in Kings Bridge Retirement Center, Atlanta.  He was born in Lithonia, Georgia, December 10, 1920, the son of Charles H. Wright, Sr. and Annie Plunkett Wright.  He was a graduate of Atlanta Tech High School and served in the U. S. Army Signal Corps during World War II.  After the war he went to work for Georgia Power Company and was employed there for 43 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, PCA.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Loraine Pickett Wright; sisters, Evergene Ayers of Austell, and Bettye Sue Wright of Decatur; nephew, Rev. Ed and Frances Ayers of Savannah; niece, Jacqueline and Don Muntner of Loganville; great niece, Allison and Brian Ziegler and their children, Katelyn and Ashton of Cumming; and devoted caregivers, Hazel Braithwaite, Jacquelyn Thomas and Angela Bassoo.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons.  Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kings Bridge Retirement Center, Inc., 3055 Briarcliff Rd., N.E., Atlanta, GA 30329 or to Amedisys Hospice Services, 575 Old Norcross Rd., Suite 3, Lawrenceville, GA  30045.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2009 at A. S. Turner & Sons.
