Mr. Charles L. Van House, Sr. of Decatur died Monday, July 11, 2005. He was born May 23, 1914 in Grand Island, NE. He retired in 1978 as Sr. Vice President of Coastal States Life Insurance Co. in Atlanta,, GA Mr. Van House was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 40 years, Past Grand Knight of two Councils. He was previously a member of the Southeastern Actuaries Club and Life Office Management Secretary Treasurer and Chairman of the Examination Committee, and member of the Administrative Committee of the Health Insurance Association of America. He was the author of "Teen Self-Esteem, A Common Sense Path to a Happy and Successful Life" and "Accounting - For Life Insurance Companies" Mr. Van House is survived by five daughters, Marian Adamson of Vinings, Barbara Fraher of Glastonbury, CT, Nancy Holbach of Charleston, SC, Terri Thornton of Decatur, Donna Van House of Decatur; two sons, Charles L. Van House, Jr. of Buford, John H. Van House of Norcross; brother, George Van House of Portland, OR; three sisters, Rita Perko of Vienna, VA, Vendla Lamborne, Mary Ann Donoghue; sister-in-law, Louise Van House; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 15th at The Prince of Peace Catholic church, Father Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prince of Peace Building fund, 4300 South Lee St., Buford, GA 30518 or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home, 760 Pollard Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30315. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
