Charles Leroy Windham Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 28, 1941 to Charles and Sara Windham. He spent his youth in Morningside and graduated from Grady High School in 1959 where he captained the football team and was president of his senior class. He received his BS degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech in 1963. At Tech, he was a member of the football team and was president of Sigma Chi fraternity. Charles served his country as a Lt. Jr. Grade in the US Navy. His business career was in chemical sales. He was a member of the Masonic Temple in Atlanta.
Charles died on May 22, 2010 of natural causes. He is survived by his wife Judy, his children Taylor and Lane, son-in-law Joseph Uehlein, granddaughter Anna Grace, and sisters Sara Virginia Knight (Walter) of Arlington, VA and Mary Louise Broach (John) of Greenville, SC. A memorial service is planned for Thursday, June 3 at 2 pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2461 Peachtree Rd. The family will greet relatives and friends in fellowship hall before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church or Buckhead Christian Ministries (BCM).
