Mr. Charles Marion Langley, Sr. of Scottdale, GA died Tuesday, November 16, 2010. He was a 25 year veteran with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department retiring in 1999. He also was a long time member of Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by brother, James Langley and parents, Jack Langley and Merle Lowrimore. Mr. Langley is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marilyn Shaw Langley; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and James Cheek; son, Charles Langley, Jr.; sister, Elaine Britt and husband Benny; brother, Jackie Langley; nephew, Jim Langley and other nieces and nephews; sons-by-choice, Mike Kontoes and family, Pete Kontoes and family; and special animal friends, Koty, Savannah, Snowball, Black Beauty, Gizmo and Jay. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19th at 1:30 pm at Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church. Rev. David Allen Grady, assisted by Rev. Jim Turrentine, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
