Charles Peavy

Mr. Charles "Chuck" F. Peavy, age 46, of Snellville, died June 8, 2008 at Emory University Hospital from complications of heart disease while awaiting a heart transplant.   Chuck was born in Decatur to Jane and Freddy Peavy on January 1, 1962.  He graduated from Lithonia High School and later served his country in the U. S. Army.  Chuck was an avid fan of NASCAR, enjoyed golfing and vintage motocross racing and golf, but his biggest accomplishment was being a daddy to his three small children.  Chuck and his family are members of Cannon United Methodist Church in Snellville. Chuck is survived by his wife, Cindi; children; Julia, Megan and Matt; parents Jane and Freddy Peavy and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be missed by his many friends and coworkers.    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home at 1 PM.  Mr. Phil Gambill will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 till 9 PM at Turner's.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Peavy Family Fund c/o Bank of America, Head Teller, 840 Oak Road, Lawrenceville, GA  30044.  This fund will be used to defray the medical expenses Chuck incurred during his long stay in the hospital.  Chuck's wishes were to spread awareness of the importance of being an organ donor, as it affects people of all ages.  A.
