Charles William Snow

Charles William Snow, 76 graduated to glory Wednesday, December 19, 2012, following a heart attack at home. The service will be held 3 PM, Saturday, December 22, at First Spanish Baptist Church of Atlanta (Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Metro-Atlanta). Dr. Charles A. Thigpen will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:30 - 2:30 pm at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Free Will Baptist Foundation, P. O. Box 5002, Antioch, Tennessee 37011-5002 (phone 615-731-6812) to benefit the Welch College Alumni Scholarship Fund and Free Will Baptist International Missions. Chuck Snow retired from Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) after 30 years as a bus and train operator. Always active in church activities, he was an ongoing advocate of Christian education and cross-cultural missions. Chuck was born in Murray, Kentucky, the son of the late Ruby Holsapple Snow and the late Cecil F. Snow. As a layman, Chuck served in numerous capacities in local churches, as well as local and national denominational leadership positions. He most recently served on the board of the Alumni Association of Welch College (formerly Free Will Baptist Bible College), his beloved alma mater. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Snow and Ruby Snow and brother John Milburn Snow. He is survived by his wife, Fleda (Mercer) Snow; children, Jonathan Snow (Teresa); Rhoda Creech; Nathan Snow (Linda); Stephen Snow (Robyn); sister, Patricia Bennett; seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
