Mr. Charlie Vlass, 92, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Charlie was a lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation. He was also a member of the Order of Ahepa. After providing a great service to our country in the U. S. Navy, he and his brother, Nick established Army Surplus Sales, Inc. in Atlanta. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Magdalene Maduros Vlass. He is survived by two daughters; Vivian Vlass Burns and Suzy Vlass Lamas, and four grandchildren; Laura Mann, Alex Orr, Nicholas Orr, and Callie Mann. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 2nd at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, with internment to follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM beginning with a prayer service at 5:00 PM at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
