Charlie White, 88, died peacefully Sunday, January 10, 2015, at Ivy Springs Senior Living in Buford, GA. He was born September 24, 1927, in Rupert (Butler) GA, to Charles Oscar and Ida Mott White. After a brief term in the Army, he married, Dolores Stanton, and started a family in Macon, GA. In 1969, they moved to Carriage Hills Subdivision in Stone Mountain, GA. where he resided until 2013. Charlie retired in 1988, after 37 years with Shedd Foods & Lever Brothers Int'l. He was very active in their neighborhood association; he enjoyed woodworking, and traveling with his wife. He was an active member in his church, Avondale First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Dolores White; and a son, James Alan White. He is survived by a son and two daughters-in-laws, David and Vicki White of Dacula, and Connie White of Crawford; two grandsons, Trent and Laura White of Canton, Kyle and Stacy White of Statham; a granddaughter, Sherry White of Dacula; Four great-grandchildren, Brogan, Morgan, Trey and Eden.
The family will receive friends at A.S. Turner & Sons on Wednesday, January 13th, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. A Graveside service will be held Thursday, January 14th, at 1:00pm at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery in Macon, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Avondale First Baptist Church, 47 Covington Road, Avondale, GA 30002. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
