Christina Lynn Baker Lee, age 68, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on October 11, 2023, after a prolonged battle with breast cancer. Known to her friends and family as 'Tina', she was born in Hapeville, Georgia on Christmas Day, 1954.
Tina graduated from Russell High School in 1972 and went on to have a successful career as a paralegal, working in multiple corporate law firms throughout her life including Hansell Post and Powell Goldstein.
Whether for her warm smile, joyful laughter, or genuine kindness, anyone who met her quickly loved her. Indeed, she was a friend to all. She loved to sing, to dance, and to explore artistic endeavors such as painting and crafting jewelry. She had a passion for discussing politics, religion, music, love, and the many mysteries of life.
October was her absolute favorite time of the year when she would create her amazing hand-sewn costumes and join in the Little 5 Points Halloween parade. Back in the day, she and her late husband Derrel would host WILD Halloween parties that were legendary in Atlanta. She always loved nature, and later in life, she cherished time with her loving partner Ray while taking their dogs on daily park visits or hiking at Arabia Mountain.
Tina had an incredible life, touching so many hearts, and she will never be forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents Curtis and Evelyn (Sheats) Baker, her husband Derrel Lee, Sr., her partner Raymond Braun, her sister Diane Baker, and her stepmother Emma Baker. She is survived by her only child, son Derrel 'Evans' Lee, Jr (Shannon); brothers Mike (Mary) Brogan, Dan (Victoria) Baker, and Braden Baker; grandsons Ethan and Gavin Lee; daughter-in-love Julia Braun; and grandchildren-in-love C.J., Kyla, and Layla.
A celebration of life date has not yet been determined, but family members will share those details when available.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the American Cancer Society or to one of the many causes Tina so generously supported throughout her life including the Humane Society, Georgia Public Broadcasting, or the American Civil Liberties Union.
