Christine M. Thompson

Christine Mays Thompson, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 29, 2007. Christine was born on Aug. 16, 1920 in Pulaski County, GA to the late Earl C. Mays and Lucille Jones Mays of Hawkinsville, GA. She graduated from Hawkinsville High School in 1938. She was a retired Sunday school teacher and her love of God was evident to all who knew her. She enjoyed reading, loved gardening and was an avid Braves fan. She held several jobs outside the home, but her primary job was caring for her family. She will be missed greatly by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Willie Lee Thompson, who died in Oct., 1974, and by her son, Homer Wayne Thompson, her grandson, Bobby Wayne Thompson, her great grandson, Zachary Fulk; sister, Wansley Louise Mays, and her brothers, Earl Mays, Jr. and James E. Mays. She is survived by four sons, Bobby G. Thompson of Bradenton, FL, Lonnie E. Thompson of Milner, GA, Samuel L. and Judy Thompson of Stockbridge, GA, and Terry M. and Laurie Thompson of Marrero, LA.; by three daughters, Wansley L. Thompson of Decatur, GA, Wanda L. Hall of Alpharetta, GA and Anne C. and Bill Maddox of Suwanee, GA.; by 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by brothers, John L. (Jack) Mays of Pineview, GA and Homer G. Mays of Stockbridge, GA; step-brother, Gene A. Mays of Cordele, GA; and by sisters, Margaret H. Wade of Bonaire, GA and Mildred and Calder Williams of Macon, GA. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Christine Thompson will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 1st in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Rev. David Clark will officiate.  Those desiring may send contributions to the Susan G.
