Mrs. Claire Blackman Harris went to see Jesus face to face Sunday, October 3, 2010. She was an amazing wife, mom and "Mamie" to two grandsons and two granddaughters. Claire was raised in Moultie, GA. She became a nursing student at Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in the 60's. She practiced nursing for over 30 years with a joy and love for her patients. Claire served and loved only her family and friends more than her patients. She will be longingly missed by her husband of 49 ½ years, Joel Harris of Stone Mountain; daughter and son-in-law, Carey Lynn and Bob Quinn of Decatur; son, Jeff Harris of Decatur; daughter, Cheryl Brackett of McDonough; grandson, Corey Page of Lilburn, Hayden Brackett of McDonough; granddaughters, Gabriele and Hannah Harris of Indianapolis, IN; and brother, Stanley Blackman of Hortense, GA. She was preceded in death by two brothers, and son-in-law, Timothy Brackett. She lived by the scripture Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." A memorial service will be held at Mount Carmel Christian Church at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 7th, Associate Minister Art Stansberry officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 6th at A. S. Turner & Sons
