Clarence Parmer of Decatur died Monday, November 26, 2012. He was a veteran of the US Army in WWII and fought bravely in the Battle of the Bulge. Clarence was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star for bravery and Good Conduct medals. He was an ordained deacon in the Baptist Church where he served his Lord and Savior diligently. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Myra Rice Parmer; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Mark Morgan and Pam and Dr. Nick Arfaras; four grandchildren, Anna Arfaras, Madelyn, Mackenzie and Maxwell Morgan. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, November 29, at the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons with Dr. Troy Bush officiating. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery at 12:30 PM Friday, November 30. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at A.S.Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
