Clifford Arthur Sandell, (Cliff), 72, of Decatur, Georgia died peacefully on June 1, 2022 in hospice care after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Cliff was born on October 4, 1949 in Meridian, Mississippi, the son of the Reverend Walter G. Sandell and the late Margaret Nader Sandell.
Cliff loved being around people and delighted in his church family at Emory Presbyterian Church, where he was an active member of the Chancel Choir, the Men's Fellowship Breakfast and Adult Lectionary Sunday School Class. He was a caring pastor, serving as a chaplain at Atlanta area hospitals in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He was also a wonderful artist, and had an incredible sense of humor with his clever zingers and Donald Duck impressions.
Cliff is survived by his wife Sue, father Walter Sandell, and his sister Beth Sandell (Fiona Martin).
A memorial service will be held at Emory Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, June 7, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emory Presbyterian Church.
