She was predeceased by her parents Sidney and Annie Bell Whittle, her sister Gladys Thompson, her brothers Ernest Whittle and Joe Whittle, and her beloved longtime companion Dorothy Alexander.   A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 27 at Westview Cemetery.  Family and friends should meet at the entrance gate at 12:45.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta 30319.  The family will receive visitors at the home of Melanie Thompson and Amy Morris following the service.
