Cora H Bond

Cora Huey Bond has passed on to a better place. She was born in Southwest Dekalb County, GA on August 18, 1932, and died Monday, January 5, 2015 in Kennesaw, GA. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Cora lived in Decatur most of her life where she was a homemaker. In recent years, she resided at Star Manor assisted living in Cartersville and Ross Memorial in Kennesaw where she made many new friends. She is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert "Bobby" Bond. Cora is survived by her son, Rodney; two grandsons Aidan and Holden; and her sisters Juanita McKinley and Ellen Shumate. Cora is also predeceased by her brothers, Harold and John Huey, as well as her sisters Elsie Biffle, Janie Hudgins, and Ruth Huey. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 10, 2015 at 2pm in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons in Decatur, GA. Final resting place will be with her husband, Bobby, at Lithonia City Cemetery. The Bond family will receive friends and family on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6 to 8pm at A.S. Turner and Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA.
