Cynthia Grace Johnson was born March 8, 1947 in Bennettsfield District in St. Ann, Jamaica West Indies to Ernest and Ivy Johnson. She was the younger sister to Vivienne (Madge) Lowe. Cynthia was a loving mother to her two daughters Sonja and Shani. She has one nephew Warren Lowe, and five grandchildren: Xavier, Briana, Zachary, Elijah, and Jabron Jr.
Cynthia attended Clydesdale Elementary school. She moved to Kingston at the age of 8 with her sister Madge and attended Trench Town Primary School. She later attended Gainslead Secondary High School and then migrated to the United States in June of 1963 to live with her father Ernest in Hollis, Queens N.Y. where she attended Andrew Jackson High School.
Cynthia started her career with New York University Rehabilitation Center in Manhattan, N.Y. After 10 years she started working at Flushing Hospital in Flushing, New York and retired after 23 years in 2009. She also worked at various Nursing Homes in Queens and Brooklyn, New York. Cynthia accepted Christ at a young age and was water baptized at Queensboro Temple SDA Church on November 26th 2016. When she moved to Georgia she was in the process of transferring her membership to Decatur SDA Church before going home. She was able to attend church there while waiting for her membership to transfer.
At her departure from this earthly life, Cynthia leaves a legacy of survivors: Ivy Johnson (Mother), Vivienne Lowe (Sister), Sonja Hunter (Daughter), Shani Cole (Daughter), Warren Lowe (Nephew), Xavier Layne, Briana, and Zachary Hunter, Elijah and Jabron Collins (Grandchildren), Winnifred and Cheryl Mulloon (Aunt and Cousin) and many more loving family and friends.

Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Lorna, Debbie, Dee Dee, Nora, Nadeem, Yvonne, Maria, Lila, Marcia, Connie, Molly, Mr. Little, Sheila, Tita, Joan, Sam and all that we may have not mentioned. The above mentioned contributed greatly with Cynthia’s care.
