Cynthia Holt of Atlanta, Georgia passed away peacefully on November 18, 2017 surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on January 2, 1961 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and moved to Rochester, New York in her early years. She graduated from Midlothian High School in Richmond, Virginia and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Marymount College of Virginia.
Cindy began her professional career in Virginia and moved to Atlanta where she worked with a number of firms including Sizemore Floyd, EDAW, Jordan, Jones & Goulding, John Portman & Associates, Gensler and Winter Construction. Cindy also founded and was principal of Cynthia Holt Marketing and Communications Consulting, LLC. She was a member of numerous organizations including the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) serving as the Southern Region Membership Chair and as the Southern Regional Representative to the Board of Directors. She also volunteered with the Georgia Independent College Association (GICA) and other organizations.
She was an active member and Elder at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House in Alexandria, VA where she taught Bible study to young children. She was an active member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church in Atlanta where she served in many positions including Deacon and Elder.
Her parents, Powell Odell and Stella Holt, predeceased her in death. She leaves behind many dear family members in North Carolina and Pensacola, Florida.
From her birth to her death, Cindy demonstrated a unique and loving commitment to her family, her friends, her beloved furry companions and her faith. Her amazing gift of hospitality will be remembered by all her family and friends.
Cindy was blessed by the love and kindness of so many angels during her brief illness. A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 2 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Cindy’s name to North Avenue Presbyterian Church, 607 Peachtree Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30308.
