Cynthia Manley Mather was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts. She was the middle daughter of Katherine and Lester Manley. Her older sister Janice predeceased her. She met and married her husband, Alan Mather, in New Haven, Connecticut while attend teachers college. They moved to Lordship, Connecticut where they had two children, Jeff and Whiz. They moved to Wilton, Connecticut in 1965. Cynthia worked as a first grade teacher in the Wilton public school system. She later attended nursing school at Norwalk Community College. She was divorced in 1987 and moved to Fairfield, Connecticut where she worked as a private duty nurse. She retired to Heritage Village in Southbury, Connecticut. She later moved to The Hearth, an assisted living facility in Southbury. In December of 2020, she moved to Sunrise of Decatur in Decatur, Georgia to be near her son and his family. She died there peacefully on January first, 2022. She will be missed by her son, daughter, their spouses and her three grandchildren.
