Daisy Marguerite Herring

Marguerite “Greta” Brunson Herring, 91, died on September 29, 2017 in Atlanta, GA.
Mrs. Herring, the wife of the late Neal Herring, was born in Columbia, Mississippi on December 28, 1925. She graduated from the University of Mississippi and moved to Atlanta in 1945. She is survived by her children Kathryn Chivers, Kenneth Herring, and Mollie Herring Woodside (James) and granddaughters Julia Woodside and Laura Woodside.
Greta played golf for over 65 years until the age of 86 and was a member of the Druid Hills Women’s Golf Association. She enjoyed taking pictures of family and friends and diligently created an entire photo album collection to document the Herring family history. She had lived at Clairmont Place for the past 11 years which she enjoyed very much because it reconnected her to former neighbors and also gave her many new friends.
A private graveside burial service is planned. Please join us to honor her memory on Sunday, October 1 from 2 until 4 pm at Druid Hills Golf Club.
