Dale T. Allen, Jr., MSW, LCSW - Died May 12, 2007 at Piedmont Hospital, Dale T. Allen, Jr. Dale is survived by his fiancée Karen; stepson Zachary Barker; granddaughter Lauren; father Dale T. Allen, Sr.; sister, Kay; aunts and uncles Virginia and CL Deadwyler, Lee and Betsy Allen; and many cousins and friends. Dale was predeceased by his beloved mother Anne Wilkerson Allen. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews Christine, Shelby, Preston, Laura Michelle and especially by Sunny "Dad" and Sally Carter. Born in Atlanta July 18, 1949, Dale was a member of the first graduating class of Lakeside High School. He attended Emory at Oxford 1968-69 and in 1974 received his B.A. in Psychology at GSU and his MSW from UGA in 1985. In 1970 Dale participated in Project Genesis on Ossabaw Island, a research experiment in Human Ecology sponsored by the Ossabaw Island Project. Dale spent most of life working in the mental health field. He practiced at Georgia Regional Hospital, Buckhead Mental Health Center, Brawner Psychiatric Hospital before joining Gwinnett Family Guidance Center in Norcross in 1988. A memorial service for friends and family members is being planned for late July.
