Kaye Lowe

December 21, 1946 — April 2, 2025

Dana Kaye Lowe, known as Kaye, passed away on April 2, 2025 at the age of 78, after many years of compassionate care by her loving husband and sons and dedicated caregivers.

Born on December 21,1946 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Kaye was the cherished daughter of Woody and Dorothy (Tarpley) Epperson. She graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1964 where she built lifelong memories of being a majorette twirling the baton and other adventures with her friends. She went on to Henderson State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1969.

After college she worked at the Arkansas State Hospital as a social worker supporting adults with special needs. Here she met her husband of 44 years, John Richard Lowe. They were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Arkadelphia on December 2, 1978 and had two sons, Richey and David. The family eventually settled in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, where Kaye and John resided for the next 30 years. Family was the foundation of Kaye's life in Signal Mountain as a dedicated mother to Richey and David and wife to John. She found joy in playing tennis, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family.

Kaye faced many health challenges in the last 10 years of her life, requiring long-term care. John was committed to keeping Kaye in the family home and providing her with the care she needed. Kaye developed strong bonds with her caregivers that brought great comfort, laughter, and friendship to her later years. Her family is deeply grateful and forever changed by the empathy, compassion, and professionalism of Kaye's caregivers and nurses.

Stories and memories of Arkadelphia - the place that was always home - were a frequent topic of conversation. Childhood fun on Cherry Street, summers at the Arkadelphia Country Club, dances and football games at school, hanging with her little brother. Kaye returns home once more.

Kaye is survived by her sons Richey (Amy) and David (Meg) and her brother Randy Epperson who will carry her memory in their hearts, as well as three grandchildren Justin, Eleanor, and Claire who will forever love their Memaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2023.

A celebration of Kaye's life will be held on April 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Atlanta, Georgia.

A funeral service will be held on April 11, 2025 at 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in her hometown of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, followed by a burial and reception.
