Daniel L. Sirmans

July 13, 1941 — May 15, 2009

Dr. Dan L. Sirmans, 67, of Manlius, NY, passed away Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY, with his family by his side, following a struggle with cancer. Dan was President of SCG, Inc.,  a training and consulting firm, an adjunct faculty member with The College of Applied Sciences and Technology at the Rochester Institute of Technology and an online faculty member at the University of Phoenix.  Formerly he held positions as Director of Training and Organization Development with Carrier Corporation, and as Vice President, Human Resources with United Technologies Communications Co. He earned his PhD in Instructional Design Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University, a Masters Degree in Career and Human Resources Development from RIT, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University. He was an active member of The United Methodist Church of Fayetteville, NY, where he served as an usher. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed restoring muscle cars and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Horace and Juanita Sirmans of Avondale Estates, GA.   He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra (Bridges), son, Todd Sirmans of Avondale Estates, GA., daughter, Elizabeth Kann USAF, Little Rock, AR and son-in law, Nicholas Kann USAF, Retired, two granddaughters, Cailey and Isabella Kann, and sister, Lynn Greathouse, of Dacula, GA.  A graveside service will be held At Floral Hills Memory Gardens at 11 a.m. Saturday. May 23rd. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the United Methodist Church of Fayetteville, 601 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville, NY  13066 or the American Cancer Society. A. S. Turner & Sons
