David E. Patterson

David E Patterson of Tucker died suddenly April 13, 2017 of heart failure. He was born on April 11, 1956 in Atlanta and was preceded in death by his parents, James E. ("Pat") Patterson and Jeanette (Jenny) Little Patterson of Decatur. He is survived by his sister, Jamie Patterson of Tucker and his brother, Michael and sister in law, Lori Patterson of Lake Worth FL as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
David graduated Columbia High School in Decatur and attended college at GA Military College in Milledgeville. He joined the US Army and was stationed mainly at Ft. Stewart in Hinesville GA. David worked for the GDOT for more than 20 years, most recently in the central office in the Contract Bidding Office after many years in the Gwinnett Field Office. In 2003 he was awarded the Commissioner's Merit Award by the GDOT for his outstanding work. He was an avid fan of UGA Bulldogs, GSU Eagles, as well as the Atlanta Braves and Falcons. David loved and rescued many homeless cats.
On Saturday, April 15, 2017, between 10 AM and 12 noon, there will be a Celebration of David's life at A S Turner and Sons Funeral Home, @ 2773 N Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA for his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Fund or the American Diabetes Association. David will be sorely missed by his family and friends who loved him dearly.
